REGISTER TO GET THE EXEMPTION FROM THE VENICE ACCESS FEE
The Municipality of Venice has introduced a new tourist tax which will apply to day-trippers. Those
who are spending a night or more in Venice will be exempt from the fee but will have to register
their stay online on this website: https://cda.ve.it/en/
Here is the procedure to get the exemption:
- Go to the website https://cda.ve.it/en/
- Click on “Go to exemptions”
- click on « I am a guest of an accommodation facility located in the Municipality of Venice”
- “Request exemption”
- Enter the check-in date and the check-out date
- Fill in the fields with all data required
- Type the name of the hotel you are staying in
- Add the names of all other guests under “Add holder”.
After that you will receive a voucher with a QR code to show to authorities at the city’s main access points if you are asked.
This registration will be necessary on these red days marked on the calendar:
Register even if your departure falls on one of these days because your exemption will be valid until midnight of the departure day.
Important: you are not exempt from the payment of the city tax of €3.50 per person per night. The above-mentioned fee, however, only has to be paid by day-trippers, who are not going to spend an overnight stay at any hotel of the city.
